Our clean standard is aligned with the EU's Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 on cosmetic products (one of the strictest regulatory frameworks in the world) and goes beyond U.S. requirements. This means our products are free from parabens, sulfates (SLS/SLES), phthalates, PEGs, PFAS/fluorinated compounds, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, synthetic fragrance blends with undisclosed components, microplastics, and microbeads, among other excluded ingredients. At LOLA, we define "hormone-safe" as formulated without ingredients that are known or suspected endocrine disruptors—chemicals that can interfere with the body's hormonal system. Our hormone-safe standard means our products are intentionally free from parabens, triclosan, triclocarban, benzophenone-3 (oxybenzone), BHA, BHT, nonylphenol, PFAS, and other ingredients associated with endocrine disruption. At LOLA, we define "fragrance-free" as containing no added fragrance ingredients: no synthetic fragrance blends, no fragrance masking agents, and no undisclosed fragrance components.

Our fragrance-free products are formulated without any ingredient added for the purpose of imparting or masking scent. Fragrance-free is distinct from "unscented," which may include masking fragrances. Naturally occurring scent from functional ingredients (such as plant extracts) may be present but is not added for fragrance purposes.

At LOLA, we define "hypoallergenic" as formulated to minimize the risk of allergic reactions by excluding common skin sensitizers and irritants, including synthetic fragrances, essential oils, parabens, sulfates, and known high-irritation fragrance allergens above IFRA safe thresholds. Our hypoallergenic products are designed for sensitive skin and have undergone dermatologist review. Hypoallergenic is not a guarantee that a product will not cause an allergic reaction in all individuals, as sensitivities vary by person.
